Hello everyone, we're back!  A new year, a new show season, some new tricks and some new members, even some new equipment - what more could you want?

Monday 31 May - Great Harwood Agricultural Show

Our first display this season, much anticipated by us all.  Two new members made their debut, Kath with Gizmo and Georgina with Tara.  A fine day, it got rather warm at times and brought out the crowds to enjoy an excellent Bank Holiday's entertainment.

     Jake starts slowly...

laughing as   he  steps out.                Then he has a rest!

           In between he practises flying!

Tia goes up...

and down.

She's so fast we didn't catch the 'over' in between!

What is the woman in black doing to Charlie?

(They're only dancing, honestly!)

Delta's always busy

She starts on the dog walk

Then she retrieves her dumbbell

Seesaw? What seesaw?

Searching for a bomb!

Now she's just showing off.

Honey's happy whatever she does

Carrying a basket of puppies

or breaking through a paper-covered hoop

Lilly retrieves her

Lucy fetches her

Seesaw or balance beam?

hamburger

dumbbell

Brave Tara can do both!

It was the first ever show for new members Georgina with Tara and Kath with Gizmo

Tara was very quick to learn the seesaw

Gizmo sits calmly on his tub

Lots more pictures coming soon!  See the Photo Gallery!

Sunday 27 June - Broughton Game Show

Oh dear, the hottest day of the year!  Not ideal for running around, for dogs or humans!  But our dogs are all fit and healthy (not so sure about the humans), and with plenty of shade from some lovely old trees, lots of water and time for a good long rest between displays, it all went well.  The ring was a bit tight, the merry-go-round was very noisy, but overall an interesting and enjoyable show.

Saturday 3 July 2010 - Higham Village Fete

What a lovely day!  A really nice village fair.  We had a good field and arena, nice weather, not too hot, good food available (hog roast and home-made cakes!), and above all a superb audience!  As we didn't have to compete with other events at the same time, everyone came to watch us, the dogs all performed well, the tricks worked well too, and the public were happy to show their appreciation - even the dogs enjoy a bit of applause!

Saturday 24 July - Littleborough Rushbearing Festival

The best show of the season so far!  We really enjoyed this one, and so did the audience.  The weather was kind - warm and fine, but not too hot, the arena was good, the show well-organised and the compere made sure everything ran smoothly and the audience was in the right place at the right time!  The commentary has improved with every display - well done Cath - the tricks were very well received and the dogs showed their friendly nature,  meeting and greeting members of the public.

Saturday 7 August -  Garstang Agricultural Show

What a busy day!  And a long one for our 'transport managers' - they arrived at 7.45 am and were at the show all day, even though in the end we could only do one display, as other events in the ring overran.  At least there was plenty to see, as the showground was absolutely packed with a huge variety of attractions.

We were in the main ring and our display went very well.  The dogs always do us proud, and the large audience were happy to show their appreciation.  We also had many visitors to meet and admire the dogs at our stand throughout the day - again the dogs were happy to make new friends and show off their skills!  It was a full day, and everyone went home tired but satisfied.

Saturday 21 August, Sunday 22 August -

Ribble Valley Vintage Club, Fence

Anthony in the doghouse ... again!

An exhausting weekend - 4 displays in 2 days is a bit of a strain, but the dogs did us proud as always, putting on a great show and entertaining the audience. Memorable moments?  Apart from the photo above that is!  Heavy downpours made the uneven ground muddy and camping out in the rain.

Sunday 29 August - Barrowford Show

A very pleasant and enjoyable show.  Although it was raining in the morning, it soon dried up and the sun came out.  There was a bit of confusion about where we were to park, but it was all sorted amicably, everything ran to schedule, and again the dogs were the stars.  They performed their tricks very well, even though by the second display they had the huge distraction of an arena littered with the falcons' left-overs!  Tara G celebrated her return from holiday by showing what good fun the tunnel can be, and overall it was a nice day.

Sunday 5 September - Heywood Charities Fete

Small dogs with BIG personalities!

Jake and Coco demand the best spots when they want a rest!

This was a nice show, with good weather and plenty for the public to see.  There was an excellent audience for both displays, and a pleasant atmosphere, despite the timings/schedule being a bit off.  The gunfight shots gave Jake a fright, even though we'd tried to avoid them.  Fortunately the other dogs didn't seem bothered, and like the little trouper he is, Jake carried on and completed the course in the second display.  He enjoyed himself earlier, though - see the photo gallery!

Sunday 19 September - Memorial Park, Milnrow

Rain stopped play!

Now this was a first - our last display this season, and it was cancelled!  We've been really lucky with the weather so far, but today was a total wash-out!  We all arrived, after various vicissitudes thanks to pouring rain and closed roads, only for the day to be called off because of the terrible weather.  The ground was too muddy and slippery for the dogs' safety, and there simply weren't enough people for the dog show, so we all went home again.  What a shame.

Enjoy the season's photos on the gallery page, and don't worry,  WE'LL BE BACK!  next year.
